stub Honor is a philosophical-social construct that attempts to define what consists of appropriate and inappropriate behavior, establishing a code of conduct that a good person should seek to live by and which they should be punished for breaking. The most famous honor systems are Chivalry, iconic moral compass of the Knight, and Bushido, the moral compass of the Samurai. In Dungeons & Dragons, honor is often considered an aspect of the Lawful branch of the alignment grid. Honor most commonly occurs as a new form of ability score or similar mechanic in Oriental Adventures games, such as Legend of the Five Rings. It typically functions more or less as a cultural equivalent to Sanity; as Honor drops, bad things happen, and running out of Honor triggers a game over.
