The '''Jabberwock''' is a monster that appeared in the poem "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Caroll, author of [[Alice in Wonderland]]. It is a fearsome beast that was slain with the [[Vorpal Sword]], and that's all we really know about it.

In [[Dungeons & Dragons]], the Jabberwock appeared in AD&D as a monstrous [[dragon]]-like fey creature, debuting in [[Dragon Magazine]] #54 for 1st edition, then being updated to 2nd edition in the Monstrous Compendium Appendix Annual Volume 3. It vanished for years after this, but made a comeback in 5e's ''The Wild Beyond the Witchlight''.

In [[Pathfinder]], the Jabberwock is somewhere between a [[fey]] elder [[dragon]] and an [[Archfey]].

In [[Warhammer Fantasy]], Jabberwocks are monsters associated with the forces of [[Chaos]]. They were retconned into being called '''Jabberslythes''' in 6th edition, which is weird since jabberwock is public domain.
