Mag Blast is a spaceship-themed strategy card game, produced by gaming company Fantasy Flight Games. It is set in the universe of Twilight Imperium, a board game made by the same company. The game is playable for 2-8 players, and is described as "a game of screaming space battles". The first edition was printed in 1998. == Gameplay == The goal of the game is to destroy opponents' flagships after destroying their protective layer of attack ships. Once the flagship is destroyed, the player is eliminated from the game. The last player left with their flagship intact is declared the winner. Each player receives a flagship card which is placed at the center of that player's battle formation. The flagship is surrounded on four sides by various other kinds of ships which are able to mount attacks on other players' fleets. This is done by firing 3 different kinds of lasers at opposing ships in the corresponding sector; for example, if Player A has a ship in the left-quadrant of his battle formation, he may fire upon any enemy ship which is also in the left-quadrant of their battle formation. Laser shots are made using Attack Cards. Each player draws up to five attack cards per turn. Game rules also require that players must make an appropriate sound effect when playing an attack card (referred to in-game as "Make a Silly Noise or Miss" Blast Targeting System technology). == Alternate rules == The rules state that you may ONLY move, shoot and reinforce in stages such as in Last Night on Earth and the like, but this rule can make gameplay stale and slow, house rules have been known to include; ===Dual Flagships!!!=== Instead of having one flagship and 4 ships, you start the game with 2 Flags and 8 Ships, as well as 10 cards in your hand. ===Rapid Play!!!=== Instead of Moving, Shooting and Reinforcing in succession, all players may declare anything at anytime in their move (Eg - Instead of finishing the movement phase, the players may wish to move at the end, as well as shooting at any time during their turn). ===Scout Tactics!!!=== Scouts have movement two, some GMs allow scouts to move to an adjacent flank, shoot, then move back (As long as GM is letting Rapid play rules). ===Spacefleet Armada!!!=== The most sophisticated playing rules ever; A game for 4 players max 2 players per team Each player controls two fleets One player must fight another player from the opposing team Each fleet may only attack one opposing fleet, the two fleets may only attack each other Effectively, 4 individual games are played When a fleet is knocked out, the fleet that destroyed it may attack any fleet it wants until the end of the game, or it is destroyed If you don't understand the rules, just homebrew your own ==Gallery== <gallery> File:Mag Blast flagships.jpg File:Mag Blast ships.jpg File:Mag Blast cards.jpg File:Mag Blast 3e.jpg|The third edition had some...
