A very large Ork Empire located in the South of both Segmentum Solar and Segmentum Tempestus. The Ork Empire of Calverna is the second largest Ork domain after the [[Ork Empire of Charadon]], it is also the largest and most powerful and cohesive Deathskulls force in the galaxy. The empire is a neighbor to another minor Ork region known as WAAAAGH! Wazdakka who seems to be beelining straight past by [[Holy Terra]]. Due to the close proximity of Wazdakka's WAAAAGH! the [[Adeptus Custodes|Custodians of the Dread Host]] have been trying to exterminate Wazdakka's horde first, with the Empire of Calverna given less notice and importance despite its size and power.

==Overview==

The Ork Empire of Calverna is located far in Galactic West. Its ruler, known as the Arch-Maniac of Calverna leads a Waaagh! against the Imperium. Orks of Calverna are well-equipped with tanks and guns but their attacks are random and display little in the way of logic or coherent strategy. In recent times, the empire have successfully conquered the former Imperial Shrine World of Emiline's Hope in 452.M41. The planet is famous for holding the bones of Saint Emiline and its loss to the Orks is considered to be a great shame to the [[Ecclesiarchy]].

Fortunately, the conquered territory was only temporary and the Arch-Maniac's forces was eventually defeated by a Imperial counterattack lead by the Order of the Bleeding Heart, the [[Adepta Sororitas]] Orders Militant that is charged with defending the planet.

The primary spaceport of Emiline's Hope is Caprium.

In 8th Edition, the empire has been leading its forces further down south of its territory in order to bolster its defenses against potential Imperial counterattack, but seeing as how unhinge their Warboss is, it may also be just as probable for the empire to simple commit a WAAAAGH! on a empty pocket of space.

== Arch-Maniac of Calverna ==

The Arch-Maniac of Calverna is the current Ork Warboss of the Ork Empire of Calverna.

The Arch-Maniac of Calverna rose to power after conquering the forge world of Magnos Majoris, the iron heart of the Calverna system. The wily old Deathskulls Warlord then cemented his power for good by having himself wired into the almighty central processing engine of the forge world, [[Magos|turning himself into the biggest Cybork ever seen.]] Turning him into the Ork equivalent of the Fabricator-General of Mars. Though this rather drastic step has left the Arch-Maniac all but invincible, the vast data-streams pouring into his tiny brain have also driven him quite mad. So it is that, while the Orks of the Calvernan empire are numerous and well equipped with tanks and guns, their attacks are random and display little in the way of logic or cogent strategy. Not that [[Ork]]s would find this to be a big disadvantage though.
