You know him, you love em, Ra, also known as, Amun-Ra, Ra-Horakhty, and Re, was the sun god of the ancient Egyptians, and is THE archetypical solar deity. To the ancient Egyptians, Ra was the divine creator and ferry man of the sun, carrying it across the sky in his Solar Barge. Helping him out in his journey across the firmament was the cat goddess Bastet, his own personal cat-girl warrior-assistant, and in some areas of egypt, he was also joined by the lion headed god of war, Anhur. Another helping hand on his boat was Set, the same brother killing, cum-laced lettuce eating, eye-plucking jerk who fought with Horus. Why he helped out manning the solar barge is simple, the threat of the Sun-Eater serpent of Chaos known as Apophis, who every evening assaulted the sun-party to eat Ra, was too great that even a god of destruction couldn't ignore. Being such a popular god in egyptian mythology and a symbol of the ancient world, Ra has appeared in many /TG/ related media and tabletop games. ==Forgotten Realms== In the Forgotten Realms setting of Mulhorand, Ra was the former head of the Mulhorandi pantheon, and acted through a avatar known as Re on primary realms, however he was fatally wounded in the Battle of the Gods by Gruumsh, the orc god during the Orcgate wars. He transferred his divine power to his protege Horus, who became known as Horus-Re. clear ==3.5e== Basically the exact same as his IRL and historical counterpart, gave some of his power to Isis to help revive Osiris so they can get their necrophilia on and create Horus to fight Set. Got put to sleep by Isis so that Osiris could become king of the gods, however his followers still get some power from him whenever he opens his eye to rub divine boogers out of it. A force of followers and faithful known as Ra's Fist travel about the world, looking for anything that could be used to wake up their sleeping god. clear ==Pathfinder== Ra is the supreme creator god and king of legend in Osirion, he is the father of Bastet, Hathor, Maat, and Sekhmet. Thoth is his son-in-law and secretary, while Wadjet helps him in his role as the divine patron of kings. Everyday he fights the long battle at sunset against Apep and is aided by his fellow gods. If Ra wins, the sun rises the next day, if he loses, everything goes bye bye. <gallery> File:Ra.jpg </gallery> Pathfinder-Deities
