A Torii is a gate structure, usually painted red, which has spiritual significance in the Shinto religion and also has cultural significance to the people of Japan. Usually placed at shrines, monasteries, and landmarks, and represent a barrier that evil, malicious, and/or unclean things cannot pass through. They are also used as a symbol of one of the divisions of the United States Marine Corps, the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines. Torii is also a skirmish wargame made for the [[Zenit Miniatures]] wargame, [[Kensei]], similar to [[Mordheim]] for [[Warhammer Fantasy]] or [[Necromunda]] for [[Warhammer 40,000]]. <gallery> Image:Torii Demos.jpg|The first Torii demo booth, at the Hispania Wargames event.
