Uber is a series of comics featuring an Alternate Universe WWII, where Germany has suddenly managed to introduce supersoldiers that are powerful enough to completely alter the course of history. With the entire timeline of the war changed, the Allies and Axis are both launched into an Arms Race to win the war through development of so called Ubers. Uber has been very well received on /tg/, with two separate storythreads propping up to show it. While at the same time, many Anons have discussed together possible means of creating a Tabletop Game for Uber, be it an RPG styled after Only War, or a Strategy Game akin to Warhammer 40k. ==Why it's great for Tabletop Games== Uber Features fairly consistent 'mechanics' in universe, dealing with how 'Tankmen' function. There are two fundamental schools of thought, being Strength(Toughness, Speed, and Raw Power), and Halo(Reality Bending abilities). Every Uber starts with a finite pool of both Strength and Halo, which usually caps out at 2. However to complicate it, some tankmen also have different pools. They generally go from 2, 6, 12, and 24, with 24 being called a "Battleship". Battleships in this case tend to have near-godlike powers in both physical and halo effects. Conversely they are also '''Extremely Rare''' In addition to the differing sizes of enhancement pools, it is also possible to skimp out on either Strength or Halo. Whereby Ubers can be created with Ultimate Strength at the cost of reality bending power, or demi-god levels of reality bending, at the cost of being vulnerable to ordinary weapons. However, later on in the series, an additional secret effect is revealed, which has nothing to do with either Halo or Strength, called "Gelt" These so called Geltmen have low amounts of latent Psionic Ability, and at its most basic can manifest simple illusions directly into people's minds. These powers have so far been only shown as illusions that cause Onlookers to see a Geltman as whatever he or she chooses to appear as. ==RPG System proposals== ===Exalted?=== Given that the degree to which the tankmen can be enhanced is inborn, an Exalted-style 'your character this game will be roughly this powerful, now decide what you want them to be good at' class system is preferable. ===D20?=== ===D7(White Wolf)?=== ===Epic D20=== While certainly the Exponential Growth of tankmen power makes things difficult. Fights Between Battleships could be handled by Epic D20, though it'll get pretty mathy. ===Dice Pool=== Dice Pooling seems to be the most likely system for representing Ubers, without dealing with pure math. The general gist of it is that players are free to choose how they wish to spend their 'pool' at character creation, into either Strength or Halo. Among other things it can include dice rolls for standard RPG stats. The game will at its simplest involve Strength Tests, and Halo Tests. Whereby the number of dice you gain for the test is directly equal to the number of activations a given tankman has in that tree. For example a battleship with 18 Activations of Halo would be able to throw 18d6(Or any other type of dice, for a sense of scale consider using 20s), at any Halo Test. As compared to a normal tankman only being able to throw a single dice at halo tests. ===Godlike RPG=== http://arcdream.com/home/category/godlike/ There. I solved your problem. That RPG has already been made, bitches. ==Tabletop Strategy Systems== Placeholder [[Category|Homebrew]] [[Category|Γber]]
