Unlike the Light Cruisers from the Eldar Corsairs. The Craftworlders actually has the resource base to craft entirely new types of Light Cruisers. These vessels are aptly named Wraithships for obvious reasons. The core is forged out of this material and into it is connected all the systems of the ship as well as being psychically attuned to the frequencies used by the Eldar. This psychic connection allows instant communication and turns the ship almost into a living being in its own right. The outer shell of the ship is also grown and designed to form bulkheads, doors and other physical designs. The wraithbone is forged by a metric shitton of Bonesingers, using their psychic powers to mould the growth of the wraithbone into the forms they desire. The pilots and crewmen of these vessels are attuned to the running of the ship and can literally feel the design of the ship. To this end, they can trim the sails to perfection to gain the most out of the solar energy the ship runs on. This also allows them to make the legendary manoeuvres which so often allow them to escape incoming fire or gain the best position to attack their enemies. ==Class== ===Basic=== ====Prismatic==== The Prismatic-class Wraithship is the 'standard' Wraithship. Not too specialized but not really distinct. It is equipped with Lascannon batteries and Torpedo launchers. The Prismatic Wraithship gives you the Torpedo/Macro mix option of Light Cruiser craft for the Asuryani. Compared to the beam cannon carrying Firestorm, this is probably the less preferable of the two options if you are looking to carry torpedoes over launch bays. This is mainly because using the torpedoes properly matches up better with the strafe-run mandatory attack profile of the Firestorm, whereas the Lascannon Artillery guns match up better with launch bays, capable of using broadside attack profiles at long range. It is armed with 4 Torpedo Launchers and 4 Lascannon Artillery. *Length: 3.4km; approx *Mass: 13.6 megatonnes; approx *Crew: 9,500 crew; approx *Acceleration: 8.5 gravities maximum sustainable acceleration ===Carrier=== ====Ghost==== The Ghost-class is the first of two carrier classes for the Wraithship and is the close-range 'brawler' type. It is equipped with Lascannon batteries and launch bays for Darkstar Fighters and Eagle Bombers. Of the two Lascannon carrying Light Cruisers, the Ghost is the most complimentary of its attack profile. With its broadside capable Lascannons, when used with Runic Targeting orders, the Launch Bay can still find use at max range, while the Ghost circles its targets to limit return fire. This makes the Ghost the most "set and forget" ship of its class, capable of performing highly on automated orders alone without your intervention, something the rest of the ships of the class require more of if they are going to perform at their best. If you need hangars and aren't concerned with a significant need of armour-piercing weaponry, go for the Ghost over the Moonray, since the latter will require more of your attention, otherwise, it won't deal enough damage or take too much for its cost It is armed with 1 Launch Bay carrying Darkstar Fighters and Eagle Bombers and 4 Lascannon Artillery. *Length: 3.4km; approx *Mass: 12 megatonnes; approx *Crew: 8,500 crew, including 4,000 pilots and support staff; approx *Acceleration: 8.5 gravities maximum sustainable acceleration ====Moonray==== The Moonray-class is the second of two carrier classes for the Wraithship and is the long-range 'sniper' type. It is equipped with Pulsar Lances and launch bays for Darkstar Fighters and Eagle Bombers. The Moonray's combination of armament makes it the most expensive of its class and probably the least appealing Light Cruiser to take without special need in terms of stacking armour-piercing or pinpoint accuracy weapons. While it is handier to have a launch bay on a ship that can fire its weapons while circling on broadside orders as the Ghost can, there is still some use in carrying squadrons on a strafing vessel, since deploying bombers at point-blank is an easy way to overcome turret defences. This is slightly countered by the fact that you're probably going to end up leaving them behind, leaving the sole squadron to get blown away on its return trip, however, better the squadron gone and actually able to have done damage than not being able to deploy them at all. It is armed with 1 Launch Bay carrying Darkstar Fighters and Eagle Bombers and 2 Pulsar Lance Beams. *Length: 3.4km; approx *Mass: 13.8 megatonnes; approx *Crew: 10,500 crew, including 3,500 pilots and support staff; approx *Acceleration: 8.5 gravities maximum sustainable acceleration ===Lance-boat=== ====Firestorm==== The Firestorm-class is the lance-boat of Wraithships. It is equipped with Torpedo launchers and Pulsar Lances. Compared to the Prismatic-class, the Firestorm is the better option of the two torpedo-carrying Light Cruisers. In order to use both the torpedoes and the Pulsar Cannons, you will need to manually give orders to the Firestorm to make a strafing run at its target to get the best hits on your torpedo spread, while putting that very limited 10-degree firing arc on your target every 30 seconds. It can still be worth going for the Prismatic over the Firestorm for your torpedo needs if your enemy has weaker armour or isn't as likely to dodge your shots, since you can end up with a higher overall damage output with the Prismatic. It is armed with 4 Torpedo Launchers and 2 Pulsar Lance Beams. *Length: 3.4km; approx *Mass: 14 megatonnes; approx *Crew: 13,200 crew; approx *Acceleration: 8.5 gravities maximum sustainable acceleration == In Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 == The Asuryani are very similar to the Corsairs, but they have stronger troops. The only drawback they really have is the fact that they tend to have fewer engine subsystems in the form of extra solar sails. Most of the Corsairs Light Cruisers and Cruisers have 3, where at most the Asuryani have 2, with their larger Cruisers only having one. Considering they don't have the fragile penalty that increases susceptibility to critical hits, this actually balances out in the Asuryani's favour in the Light Cruiser class.
