The deeper an intruder goes into the Psychovore jungles, the more aggressive and virulent the plants become.

	By 2595, the Psychovore belt has overtaken Central African, the former Sahel, the Nile Valley, Cyprus, the Levant, and much of former Turkey. It meets the Spore Wall near what's left of Istanbul and creates the Dissonance, as the two alien colonial lifeforms disrupt each other. The Spitalians & Anubians are beginning to cooperate in researching this phenomena in the hopes of driving back both menaces. 			Got lucky in the Eschaton and subsequent climate shifts - planetary cooling has greened the Sahara, supporting many tribal villages and major cities along the Mediterranean coast. Pretty much all the different tribes and ethnic groups have agglomerated into a single culture, aided by psychic phenomena giving everyone a single language. Instead of a direct hit, the asteroid swarm gave Africa a grazing blow that dropped plant spores over Central Africa, planting the seeds of the Psychovore jungle, which is now aggressively spreading North.

			African culture is based around pride, trade, and vengeance against Europe, and its native cults lead the way. The Neolibyans finance Africa, the Scourgers defend its interests, and the Anubians care for the souls and bodies of its people. Tripol is arguably the greatest city left in the world, with its massive Bank of Commerce governing Neolibyan activities throughout the known world. The underbelly of African society is built on slaving - debt slavery and (more commonly) white slaves taken from the ruin of Europe. Most Africans see this as a fit punishment and revenge against the past plundering of their land.

			The game runs on a system called the "katharSys". It's a stat + skill d6 [[dice pool]] system, and is generally quite serviceable, save a few quirks here and there. Also, quite lethal.

			The current version is named Rebirth and comes in two full color hardcover books or PDFs. It fixes the near unplayable mechanics of the first version, advances the timeline, and brings the cults a little closer together to make mixing parties easier. The first version had a grittier visual style and was elaborately illustrated with black and white drawings.
