Asteroids), Temptors, fucking HEDONISTS. It’s just the author’s shit excuse for putting his magical realm into a science fiction novel. undo

They’re the reason humanity after the planetary wars became so weird and childishly fetish-filled (as the colonists can attest to). This same logic could be said to Tobias from Pokemon; another mary sue who wasn’t a main character, therefore isn’t a sue according to you. undo

They are just a narrative device to allow that the story is really about to happen. undo

Again, unless you can actually explain a single thing about the Qu that isn’t “they’re better than humanity”, then they’re just mary sue dragonflies from a really childish author. undo

The Qu isn't show as morally superior and they're flat-out called fanatics by the narrator and their civilization has developed long before humans came along and spams galaxies thus explaining their power undo

And somehow despite your explanation you never explained how their age could counter humanity. There are things billions of years older than us right now and they aren’t smarter or more complex because of it, so how could a random species of bug survive radiation’s chromosome-killing potential? undo
  • curprev 21:3821:38, 25 January 2023 1d4chan>King Crimson 160,349 bytes −1,390 The Qu are less of a character and more of a plot device, they getting defeated in what amounts to a footnote in human history is meant to represent the whole "what matters is the now" themes of All Tomorrows, and how in spite of how powerful their Empire was they still fell in the end (Just like how humanity disappears in the end). Oh, and they defeat humanity in spite of their tech because they existes BILLIONS OF YEARS before humanity came to be, no matter how advanced humanity was back them. undo
