Frey, or as it's more often written, Freyr, is the Norse god of kingship, virility, prosperity, sunshine, and fair weather. In D&D, he's appeared as far back as Basic D&D, and most recently appeared in the 5th Edition Player's Handbook.

Frey is the patron Immortal of freemen and thralls of the Northern Reaches and the Antalians.

History[edit | edit source]

Frey was the brother of Freyja, both of whom were born among the Antalian tribes that inhabited what would become the Heldannic Freeholds, and the ancestors of the people of the Northern Reaches. The two of them were less warlike than their fellow tribesmen, believing that fighting should serve a more noble purpose than conquering and raiding. The two of them eventually undertook the Path of the Epic Hero and ascended to Immortality in the Sphere of Thought sponsored by Odin. Frey now acts Odin's warrior-counselor.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Frey appears as a tall, handsome, and lithe man with blonde hair. He usually dresses and arms himself like the people of the Northern Reaches, along with wearing fine jewelry.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Frey is a professional, calm, and collected warrior, never losing himself in the heat of the battle. He's allied with Odin and Thor, opposing Loki.
