A word-guessing game for three or more players by Ryan Hughes. You will need a dictionary, or some text that is a source of words, and you all have to speak the same language, duh. You're best if everyone has the same vocabulary/education level too.
Rules[edit | edit source]
One player is the guesser, all others are the givers. Each giver picks a word at random from the book and writes it down. Then the givers bid for how few words they can use to get the guesser to guess their word. Bidding starts with whoever has the most points so far, and each bid must be fewer than the last. If the guesser correctly guesses the word after the giver says her clues, the guesser gets one point and the giver gets two points. If the guesser misses, the giver that bid second-lowest gets one point.
Example of play[edit | edit source]
- Giver A: I can do it in five words.
- Giver B: I can do it in four.
- Giver A: Three.
- Giver B: Two.
- Giver A: Fucking do it, then.
- Giver B: "Cahptoor eet"
- Guesser: Cultist?
- Giver A: goddamnit.
