A decent 1986 film, with a glorious campy Queen soundtrack and several truly awful sequels. A Frenchman plays a Scot pretending to be an American, a Scot plays an Egyptian pretending to be a Moorish Spaniard, and an American plays an Eastern European/Caucasian barbarian. Questions? It's on the list of /tg/ Approved movies. Also a pretty good TV show that eventually jumped the shark, but did some mildly interesting things with the basic premise.
It's widely believed Highlander had a significant influence on the initial pitch of the World of Darkness: Here we have urban fantasy, operating under a clear masquerade with some exploration of the overall consequences of the Supernatural Entities existing, with something of a society among them, that showed actual thought as to what that implied. Change the Immortals to Vampires, and you have something vaguely resembling V:tM.
Also an (unofficial) ruleset to include the immortals from Highlander into the World of Darkness, which is why this page was created.
