The woman-warriors of House Walkur are no ordinary knights: they are valkyries who fly into battle bringing doom and lightning. The valkyries of House Walkur moved swiftly with assistance from the skald sky transport, deploying directly from ship to surface on top of the enemy. Entering combat immediately, the valkyries have much work to do: they must eliminate enemy anti-armor forces to ensure their own survival, then deal with the rest of the rabble to ensure their allies'.
No normal knight suit could take such a fall without its legs buckling under the force, so a special model, the Valkyrie Knight, is required. Using multiple rockets in the shoulders, the Valkyrie Knight can fall from upwards a kilometer's height. However, dropping into range of enemy antitank weaponry is dangerous no matter how fast you deploy, and so besides House Walkur's careful deployment, the valkyries also rely on the suites of secondary weaponry their knights are equipped with-lascannons, grenade launchers, flamers, melta bombs, multimeltas, or even missile racks-to destroy materiel before it destroys them.

House Walkur is an esteemed Imperial knight house comprised solely of women. The house is famous for its ranks being entirely female, as well as its selflessness and philanthropy.

History[edit | edit source]

Foundation and the Age of Strife[edit | edit source]

As with all the knightly houses, House Walkur's roots date back to the Age of Technology. In an age where ghastly perils hid in the shadows of the worlds that fed humanity, warriors clad themselves in titanic battlesuits to fight off xenos and rebels alike, and formed highly traditional and militaristic feudal societies in their domains. This is the pattern House Walkur followed, with one notable peculiarities: the incompatibility of males with the thrones mechanicus of the house.

Shield-Brothers[edit | edit source]

No warrior can stand on their own; even knights need men-at-arms to support them. Dropping alongside valkyries with grav-chutes are the shield-brothers of Tannhäuser. Whereas the valkyries are merely headstrong, the shield-brothers are truly insane, fighting against foes often beyond them with their lords, going where knights cannot reach to dislodge entrenched enemies in hand-to-hand combat.
