The real attraction of the game. Each series is made up of related models and only available in blind boxes - you buy them and don't know which you get until you open it. And of course some are rarer than others, meaning you'll end up buying duplicates trying to complete the set.

The models are nice though - they're detailed, with unique poses, and make nice ways to add variety to your army or kill team even if you don't want to collect the set...if you're willing to pay the premium to get them that is. Assembly is very similar to EtB.

Interestingly, they appear to be halfway between Manlet Marine and Primarine size, similar to the newer DW releases.
All complaining aside, the models are actually quite nice - they're extremely detailed, they all have unique and dynamic poses, and they will certainly add variety to your army or kill team even if you don't want to collect the set... as long as you're willing to pay the premium to get them, that is. Note that these are monopose "push to fit" kits.

The Space Marine Heroes miniatures consist of limited-issue blind boxes featuring "collectable" models with unique poses. The notion of adding a random element to an already expensive hobby is, of course, complete bullshit. To make matters even worse some of the minis have only been released in Japan, which is a situation that creates rage. It also explains why re-casters exist. However, if you can get your hands on them the miniatures are, admittedly, unique and quite well done.

The Game[edit | edit source]

Series 1 and Series 2 featured a stripped-down "Space Marine Heroes Battle Game" that absolutely nobody cared about. However, if you're really intent on viewing the rules they can be found here.

Honestly, though, if you're the sort of person who is jumping through hoops to get these miniatures in the first place, you're not doing it to play some watered-down version of 40k for idiots. Just play regular the regular game.

The Models[edit | edit source]

Each series is made up of related models and only available in blind boxes - you buy them and don't know which you get until you open it. And of course some are rarer than others, meaning you'll end up buying duplicates trying to complete the set.

Series 1 (2018)[edit | edit source]

To absolutely nobody's surprise, it's the Ultramarines. Compared to previous Space Marine releases, the miniatures appear to be ever-so-slightly upscaled.

Series 2 (2019)[edit | edit source]

Blood Angel Terminators. These models are also noticeably taller than previous GW terminator releases.

Series 3 (2020)[edit | edit source]

Death Guard plague marines. Each model features his own personal Nurgling and can be assembled with or without a helmet. You will notice that the sleeves issued to North American game stores only have 6 blind boxes each. If you buy a complete, intact sleeve of this series, you are therefore guaranteed 1 of each miniature EXCEPT for the Plague Caster. As of early 2021, this particular Plague Caster has only been released in Japan through an exclusive Series 3 paint set. 2023 had a second run of Series 3, this time with ehe Plague Caster included in the western release too.
