Throne(s) Gelt, commonly referred to as Thrones, is the closest thing the Imperium of Man has to a universal monetary unit. It is a standardized measure of wealth, its value determined by a planet's tithes. The name is derived from a combination of The Golden Throne and an archaic term for tithe money payed in olde times of GW's Homeland; Throne Gelt literally just means 'The Emperors' Money'. Is quite appropriately abbreviated as 'tg.' Golden Imperials might exist.
