Arigan

Arigan is the setting for the currently on-going Arigan Evolution Game. The planet started with three basic species of animals and two species of plant. From there, /tg/ got shit done and ended up creating a highly diverse ecosystem. There have been two major events since the game's inception, a longterm monsoon and a meteor impact.

Eras

Arigan's timeline is divided up into "eras". Each era is defined by a significant event which has an impact on the evolution of Arigan's ecosystem.

The Beginning

There were three species of fauna and two species of flora in the beginning. The Skrelp, the Felg, the Burz, the fern and the Thungus laid the foundation for all future species to come. Life in this era was mostly entirely centered around tidepools and shores. This era spans from their emergence to the beginning of the Monsoon.

The Monsoon

This era spanned from the beginning of unending torrents of rain falling on Arigan and to the time before the Impact. The native species of Arigan made water-based adaptations to deal with the rising tides. The Monsoon thus saw the largest explosion of sea life yet in Arigan as species went deeper and deeper into the oceans.

The Impact

This era was started by a meteor hitting the surface of Arigan and causing an ice age. Many species struggled to adapt to the new colder climate and lack of sunlight. More than a few species of the Monsoon era died sometime after the Impact. The Impact is the current era of Arigan's timeline though history has much more to tell on this humble planet.
