To make this possible in the ever so clean and sanitized Trek Future some lengths had to be made to find reasons for how this strange creature could exist. The conclusion was the ship know as the U.S.S. Ark Royal, the metal box Starfleet dumps all it's crazy in if that crazy also happens to have way too much skill and aptitude to expel.
