The Golden Imperial is the standard unit of currency in the Imperium of Man. Exchange Rates are not well known at this time.
In the first Horus Heresy book, a mention is given to a pile of "Imperial coin and plastek wafers," one of which is a "five aquila piece" that the Imperium replaces the local currency with after they burn down a planet. In Legion, Imperial soldiers from Terra bet with "Crowns."
Other planets and sectors have their own currency. The Calixis Sector uses the Throne Gelt, or Throne. In Varangantua the currency is called Slate and is largely electronic.
