While they are often depicted in comic relief and may be wearing the [[Flak Armor|cardboard armor]] that many Guardsmen wear. Squat Troopers defer by having weapons that can hit like a truck. They were the [[Tau]] [[Fire Warrior|Fire Warriors]] back in the day.

They have a tendency to overcompensate their short height with massive guns. Thus, most Squats have at least one heavy weapon, and sometimes an entire squad may be equipped with heavy weapons. Since no Squat would be consider himself fully dressed without at least one sidearm, it is not unusual for Squats to go about armed to the teeth as a matter of course.
