Thir is the religion of dragons in Eberron. The name of the faith is the draconic word for three.
Dragon Religion[edit | edit source]
Dragons believe that existance is cyclical, with three Progenitors having created the world and that the Draconic Prophecy is their will made manifest and plan for creation. When the prophecy has run its course, three new Progenitors will be chosen from among the Dragon Gods and the most worthy of the Sovereigns will become the next Dragon gods.
Three Levels of Divinity[edit | edit source]
Progenitors[edit | edit source]
Progenitors are the most distant of the gods worshipped by the dragons, as they believe them to be too vast to hear the prayers of any dragon. Nobody worships Siberys, as he's very much dead, followers of Eberron tend to become druids, whilst followers of Khyber hide their faith.
Dragon Gods[edit | edit source]
The dragons main gods are the same gods that dragons worship in other settings (Io, Bahamut, Tiamat, etc.). They're believed to live somewhere outside of the Orrery, with exception of Tiamat who is sealed in the Pit of Five Sorrows in Argonessen. They all are represented by a constellation in the night sky.
Sovereigns[edit | edit source]
The very same Sovereigns that the other races follow, are acknowledged by the dragons as being the gods who watch over the races of Eberron. Dragons who emulate and embody primal concepts in their life are believed to ascend in death and take the position of the Sovereign from the previous holder, with there ever being 15 Sovereigns at any one moment. The Sovereign archetypes are: the Child of Eberron, Flame of the Forge, Fortune's Fang, the Guide of the Weak, the Lightkeeper, the Loredrake, Master of the Hoard, Passion's Flame, the Stalking Wyrm, and the Wyrm of War. There is no archetype associated with The Traveler, but all other archetypes are believed to be an equal part of him.
