Boarding Patrol Boxes are kinda like Combat Patrol Boxes, but smaller and built around the Boarding Actions mode first introduced in Arks of Omen.
The boxes
Name | Contents | Savings (compared to the kits sold separately) | Deal? | Notes | Image |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Adeptus Mechanicus | 1 Tech-Priest Dominus, 10 Skitarii Vanguard/Rangers, 3 Kataphron Destroyers/Breachers, 5 Sicarian Infiltrators/Ruststalkers | $$ | Good | Mechanicus players, please give your opinions here. | |
Chaos Daemons (again actually just Khorne like for the Combat Patrol) | Karanak, 10 Bloodletters, 10 Flesh Hounds | $$ | Good | Khorne players, please give your opinions here. | |
Chaos Space Marines | Abaddon, 10 Chaos Space Marines, 20 Cultists | $$ | Good | GW saw all the tournament lists running Chaos Marines and figured that they might as well give us players the right units. Abaddon is your most powerful unit in the entire army and cultist blobs can ensure he can be protected long enough to devastate your opponent’s 500 point list. As for the marines, their kit is always good to have with the customization and free wargear options. They will always have better rules than your mere mortals, so use them wherever cultists can’t be bothered to. | |
Death Guard | 1 Lord of Virulence, 10 Plague Marines, 3 Deathshroud Terminators | $$ | Good | Death Guard players, please give your opinions here. | |
Genestealer Cults | 1 Abominant, 10 Acolyte Hybrids/Hybrid Metamorphs, 1 Kelermorph, 5 Aberrants | $$ | Good | Genestealer Cult players, please give your opinions here. | |
Grey Knights | Castellan Crowe, 5 Terminators/Paladins, 10 Grey Knights | $$ | Good | Unironically nice. Outside of its main purpose, combining this set with the Combat Patrol makes a great starting point for Grey Knights. | |
Necron | 10 Warriors, 10 Lychguards/Triarch Praetorians, 3 Ophydian Destroyers | $$ | Good | Lychguard are a great protector unit and Praetorians’ multiple attacks are always good for non-aoo games with their swift flying charges. You can’t go wrong with having enough Warriors either, and Ophydians give your army a little deepstriking potential before reducing your enemy to dust. Note that this box doesn’t come with an HQ, which is a blessing in disguise because it means you can buy multiple packs without redundant characters. | |
Space Marines | 1 Captain in Gravis Armor, 10 Assault Intercessors, 5 Heavy Intercessors | $$ | Good | Space Marine players, please give your opinions here. | |
Tyranids | 1 Broodlord, 8 Genestealers, 6 Tyranid Warriors | $$ | Good | putting 40k aside this gives a selection of all the non-gaunt options for a tyranid compendium kill team roaster. All you need to add to have every option are two more Genestealers and 8 of any kind of gaunt, and those are not necessary as 6 Warriors or three and a fire team of Genestealers is not a bad selection. So as a whole Tyranid kill team, it's great but Tyranid 40k players please give your opinions here. |
