Once upon a time, Fantasy Flight Games created some fairly successful RPGs. Then they lost a few licenses. They took what they had learned and created a generic roleplaying system they could release that people would create content for without the company needing to invest the time, effort, and royalties otherwise required. They called this system Genesys. And for a time, it was good.
Released in November 2017, Genesys is a pen-and-paper generic RPG system and toolkit by Fantasy Flight Games, using a refined version of the system presented by their Star Wars RPGs (Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, Force and Destiny).
