Recently he has written the 40k novel "Rites of Passage" which has come under fire from Neckbeards due to controversial inclusive considerations such as characters with non-traditional genders and their pronouns in the novel. These are in-line with BL's guidelines (especially for ad-mech) as it's more sci-fi. He also goes the way of ADB and front loads the Alpharius novels with women in almost every non-Astartes role, complete with a lesbian couple and their gene-splice produced daughter. A Genderless techpriest also appears in Brutal Kunnin', which likely proves Mike Brooks was born without a penis or vagina, and is scared to discover what they look like.
