In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the Sensei are supposedly the immortal offspring of the Emperor of Mankind; in the good ole' days of the fluff, their end goal was to achieve apotheosis and merge their souls with the fragment of the Emperor floating around in the warp - the Star Child.
Nobody Expects the Space Inquisition
Well, they don't.
The Inquisition has had a few run-ins with the star children, mostly in older novels; the theme seems to be that the Inquisition labels them as heretical mutants and exterminates them.
