In dire economic times, a nation strapped for cash will occasionaly sell an entire town for a relatively small sum of money. The result of /tg/'s population purchasing one of these towns is Tiji, Latvia, a setting overflowing with neckbeardery and grimdark. Facing such threats as old Soviet war machines, severely mutated bears, and BEES, the fa/tg/uys of Tiji construct a mighty fortress, building up and digging down, greedily excavating the unholy ground and thrusting ever deeper into Earth's sweet, moistened crust.
Opening
One Latvian town is on sale for some 323 thousand dollars… You can pay by installments for ten years for a small town with 70 different houses and buildings, among which there are ten residential buildings with 551 apartments, hotel, clinic, hospital, kindergarten, club, post office, boiler house, water tower, garages plus underground bunkers and shelters in case of nuclear war. The authorities of Latvia decided to take this step because of the hard consequences of the global financial crisis.

Tiji Features
Size
The fortress's borders extend about 2 miles in every direction from the center. For convenience's sake, it is said to have an area of 16 square miles. Since the original town was built "in the middle of nowhere," 40+ miles from the nearest human dwelling, where the forest is thick and omnipresent, there is little chance of encountering a non-Tiji resident if you wander outside the walls. This is partly due to the fact that you will be captured and skinned by SuperGrues long before you make it to the next town, if you are traveling on foot.
Walls
The walls of Tiji have been under near-continuous construction and maintenance for close to two years. Built at first out of piles of junk and felled trees, the current outer wall is composed almost entirely of stone, 4 stories tall at the highest. A single entrance exists in the Northwest, barred by a raised drawbridge during most of the day. This bridge is rigged with multiple counterweights to bring it down easy, but a quick-release system enables it to smash anything in its path into dust.
Resources
Tiji contains extensive natural (and unnatural) resources, which were left mostly untouched during the town's short history before the collapse of the USSR. Trees are the most obvious and most visible resource, but they are quite a minor feature compared to what exists underground.
Old Soviet Equipment
Since the town was rather quickly abandoned, a great amount of Soviet machinery can be found pretty much everywhere, rusting in piles all over the forest. The items available range from rifles and combat knives to APCs and Tanks, though the latter are understandably more rare. It's highly unlikely for anything found in the forest to be operable, but certain durable, well-built weapons, like land mines, can still be used.
Promethium
Certain areas of ground have been contaminated by experiments the fa/tg/uys dare not fathom. Around these areas nothing grows, and no animal, not even a bee, will cross a contaminated black patch. In these locations, the sticky, pitch-black, tar-like substance Promethium seeps up out of the ground, and can easily be gathered with the application of suction. Promethium is extremely flammable and incredibly hard to remove from skin or clothing. It serves as both fuel and seige weapon, carried by all that venture outside the walls in "napalm cocktail" form, trapped in a small glass bottle that is thrown like a grenade.
Population Features
Religion
Some fa/tg/uys have opted to bring their previous religion with them, but for most, the term "Religion" has come to refer to "Cult of Alignment." Every alignment, from the well-known (Neutral Good) to the obscure (Lawful Batman) is guaranteed to have a follower. Though there is no guarantee that a "cultist" will exhibit the qualities of their alignment, it doesn't seem to matter very much to the population at large.
True Neutral
The TN group is the largest, incorporating more than half of the total population of Tiji. TNers are a diverse group, and the most they have in common is that they all consider themselves "easygoing." It is the closest thing Tiji has to a majority party.
Chaotic Good
CGers like to think of themselves as Paladins of Eldrad. They'll try to do good, but they will do so regardless of THE LAW and they'll be dicks about it.
Chaotic Evil
CE is a group nearly exclusive to people who have more in common with /b/ than /tg/. The great majority of the followers of CE are doing it for the lulz.
