Halo is a vidya game series released for the ECKSBAWKS and ECKSBAWKS 360 and to the PC, it isn't ported to anything else as it's a game developed exclusively by Microsoft. It also has a novel series buuuuut it's not like most people who play Halo has the attention span to read either. It became famous for being the game that saved ECKSBAWKS from doing an Atari Jaguar in the 21st century when the PS2 and Gamecube were neck and neck in console sales, primarily because it was the only reason anyone would even want to play an ECKSBAWKS HUEG console. It's storyline is pretty much a copy of your everyday generic sci-fi storyline you can think off with a multiplayer that isn't too original either. Why it became famous to this extent is something only Tzeentch could answer.
Halo takes place in the distant future, where Al-Qaeda-esque aliens called the Covenant are at war with the human race, who still haven't progressed past the gunpowder stage. It's not exactly known why they want to wipe the human race buuuuut that's aliens for you.
