Much like their [[Warhammer 40,000]] counterparts, the Empire of man has its leadership come into power one of two ways, you either are a noble from birth and thus are put into a high command position because of connections, or you survived a couple of battles against the [[Beastmen|furries]],[[Warriors of Chaos|the steroid abusers]], or the [[Skaven|ones that don't exist]], and naturally you rise through the ranks as a hardened bad ass.
