Construct is a racial typing invented in Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition to refer to the wide variety of monsters whose origin story can be summed up as "inanimate object given a semblance of life by magic". This allowed for an easier way to group together golems, Animated Objects and other such creatures, and it has since been integrated into the /tg/ lexicon because of its usefulness.
