Erol Otus is god among game artists. He is known for several covers of 1970s-era Advanced Dungeons & Dragons modules, like D3: Vault of the Drow. Somewhere is an "Otyl Erus" as an easter-egg NPC in the main text, a drow madman. Won't see that done for Bill Willingham!
Erol went on to do the artwork for Starflight 2 and (more famously, since the vidja-resolution caught up) Star Control.
