A bit of writefagging based on a quote from Malcador the Sigillite:

“You brothers--such a nest of rivalries. I warned him to make you sisters, that it would make things more civilized. He thought I was joking, I wasn't."

Changes

Genders and Loyalties

Female

Horus (loyal, replaces Roboute, killed by Lorgar at Imperial Palace)

Fulgrim (traitor, killed by Ferrus on not!Istvaan after stupid amounts of shipping in the Great Crusade)

Alph/Omegon (whole legion female, loyalties split between two primarchs)

Lorgar (replaces Horus as arch traitor, Word Bearers become a huge legion, seems like she's the best conqueror until all her planets rise up as chaos minions)

Russ (loyal, tsundere A.F. with Magnus)

Khan (loyal)

Dorn (loyal)

Angron (traitor, becomes very passive-aggressive instead of straight rage)

Roboute (traitor)

Male

Ferrus (kills Fulgrim, but gets very upset over what he's done and starts indiscriminately murdering people until he is killed. Amplifies FLESH IS WEAK among surviving IH)

Magnus (loyal)

Morty (traitor)

Curze (traitor)

Lion (WAS ALREADY A TRAITOR)

Vulkan (loyal, still best bro of all time)

Corax (loyal)

Sanguinius (goes traitor with roboute, form their own Imperium Secundus)

Perturabo (loyal, builds autistic walls with Dorn)

Misc

I might switch the loyalties of IH and EC.

Basically Lorgar and Horus are the two "favored children." Emperor roasts Colchis still, but this time with Horus instead of Rawbutt Girlyman. Lorgar seems to acquiesce and goes on a win streak, taking thousands of worlds and expanding her legion mightily. Magnus and Russ bang on Ullanor. All is well.

But Fulgrim feels let down by the growing oppression of the Imperium, and her desire for perfection allows her to join with Lorgar. Similarly, Roboute and Sanguinius feel that their own empire could do much better than the Emperor. Angron and Curze are insane, Morty gets dragged into things, and before you know it: HERESY!

Burning of Prospero: Magnus discovers Lorgar's shenanigans, fucks shit up on Terra by accident, Russ comes over and they talk it out. Magnus heads to Terra and splits most of his soul from his body to sit on the Golden Throne while he leads the 1k Sons (also, dammit, the Thousand Daughters would have been perfect).

Now the Emperor is out and about with the Custodes to go fuck up some traitors. Lured into trap somehow, loyalists BTFO. not!Istvaan happens, Ferrus and Fulgrim die. More shit happens. Slowly pushed back to Terra.

Final battle happens in front of the Golden Throne. Lorgar is trying to summon daemons, so Magnus is forced to sit bodily upon the Throne to keep the portal closed while the Emperor helps. Horus duels Lorgar and is killed. Emperor fights Lorgar, gets fucked up. Random mysterious guardsman stops the final blow for a whole two seconds before getting his soul mind-raped.

While Lorgar focused her psychic abilities on the guardsman, Emps siezes the moment to strip the influence of the Chaos Gods away. They look sadly at each other and then Emps kills Lorgar once and for all.

The Emperor Meets Queen Russ

The door of the great hall washed open, moved by wind, accompanied by a stranger. Cheering, bantering and drinking halted at once, so sudden was the change. The air itself turned to a warm darkness from the usual biting chill of Fenris.

The hooded figure strode between the long tables, his cloak tracked by dozens of blue eyes, until at last the long wind ceased; the leaves no longer blew in from outside; and the man stopped before the dais, his hood already off of his head without a single movement, his force of will holding the guards from approaching him.

Queen Russ glanced down at the stark, handsome face, black hair streaming from his head. She took a lazy gulp from her mug and regarded him for a moment more.

"And who might you be?"

A waiting pause.

"Just a traveller."

A cool drink.

"A simple wanderer does not have such a force about him."

His eyes did not move from hers.

"I have not said I am simple."

Hers rolled and rested again.

"Alright. If you will not tell me who you are, then what are you?"

"Strength and destiny."

With that, the queen's countenance walked from feigned boredom to blushing, righteous anger.

"Stronger than me? Wiser than the Rune Seers? I have bested every man, every army, that has challenged me. I was raised by a she-wolf and a king. I slay mighty beasts. I rule justly and peacefully. The priests say the stars themselves are my watchers. And you say you are strength? You say you are destiny?"

The stranger's eyes were calm and his words stayed smooth:

"You words are artful in rage, so I tell you this: I journey from the stars, and soon will return there."

The queen's vision narrowed, blonde hair descending over her icy gaze freezing into steel.

"If you are so destined, stranger, then how about a challenge? Or a series thereof. I will test you, as is the way of Fenris."

"I will go your way."

"Then prepare yourself."

The queen rose from the throne, revealing her massive height, strength, and regalia. The pelt of a massive creature rounded her shoulders, but dropped as she unclasped her cloak. Blue and black clothing shrouded her, and her muscles pressed at seams. She tightened a thick, sandy braid into a bun.

The first challenge was eating. Whole turkeys lay before the competitors, and they raced to finish them. The queen trounced the stranger.

The next test was drink. For a whole day and night, mead and wine flowed in rivers. The queen outlasted the cloaked man.

At last came combat. Russ fought brutally, wildly, yet with the skill and speed of a veteran. The bout took dawn away from dusk, but at last the man felled the queen with a heavy punch.

Waking quickly from unconsciousness, the queen looked up to see the man--no longer shrouded in the dim but blazing with golden light, perfect crown and armor enveloping his colossal figure.

"I am the Emperor of all Mankind. I go now to begin a great quest, a crusade, to reclaim the lost worlds of our people. You are my long-lost daughter, Queen Leman Russ, and you shall have a mighty legion of warriors to conquer the stars at my side with your siblings. Will you join me?"

Breathless and amazed, Russ knelt before the golden giant. Her whole array of supporters followed suit.

"Stranger. Emperor. Father. You have proven your might, and have Fenris at your back."
