The Golden Imperial is the standard unit of currency in the Imperium of Man. Exchange Rates are not well known at this time.
In the first Horus Heresy book, a mention is given to a pile of "Imperial coin and plastek wafers," one of which is a "five aquila piece" that the Imperium replaces the local currency with after they burn down a planet. In Legion, Imperial soldiers from Terra bet with "Crowns."
Other planets and sectors have their own currency. The Calixis Sector uses the Throne Gelt, or Throne.
