Hoar is the Forgotten Realms god of retribution and poetic justice. And yes, his name is pronounced like you think it is.

One of the least SJW prone gods, Hoar is not a pussy. Other gods will have clergy that will preach forgiveness and let go of grudges. Hoar? Hoar will fuck your shit up, and he will not quit. If you injured an innocent, his wandering clergy will listen to them. Their clergy isn't wealthy... but what they do have are a very particular set of skills - skills they have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make them a nightmare for people like you. They will look for you, they will find you, and they will kill you.

Good luck.

History[edit | edit source]

Origins[edit | edit source]

Originally known as Assuran, Hoar came to Faerûn along with the rest of the Untheric pantheon after Ao allowed their entry, and helped free their people, the mulani (ancient Egyptians/Mesopotamian), from slavery under the wizard-kings of Imaskar. He was one of the few surviving members of the Untheric pantheon, after the Orcgate Wars, where most of them died fighting against Gruumsh and other orcish gods, and was evetually chased away from Unther by Ramman, the war god.

Time of Troubles[edit | edit source]

After Ao threw the gods out their realms, Hoar possessed the body of Hippartes, got weapons from Thay, and went to pursue Revenge against Ramman. Though he managed to kill the war god, he was unable to get the portfolio of war, which was taken by Anhur.

Realm[edit | edit source]

In the Great Wheel, Hoar resided in Mechanus, in the realm of Doomcourt, which was always covered in a thin layer of frost.

In the World Axis he resided in Banehold.
