Known as a level headed and wise astartes, Aximand earned his place as 5th captain and later the Mournival during the late Great Crusade, fighting both in the battles of Sixty-Three-Nineteen, and on Murder against the Megarachnids. While Aximand was a loyal man to the ideals of the Emperor, he was corrupted by the warrior lodge institutions within the 6th legion and followed his primarch to damnation in the hands of Chaos.
