Oblivion Knight-Centura

Knight-Commander Jenetia Krole, commander of the Silent Sisterhood, leader of the Oblivion Knights and the scariest lady on heels you are going to meet.

Drawn from the elite ranks of the Chamber of Oblivion, the Oblivion Knights-Centura serve as the battlefield commanders of the Sisters of Silence. Elevated as a result of their seniority, martial prowess and power as Psychic Nulls, they are afforded use of the rarest (And we mean new ways to shag the Thousand Sons) weaponry the Sisters of Silence can bring to bear and charged with the inviolate duty of commanding both the tactical operations of the Great Tithe and the sworn duty of destroying rogue psykers deemed too dangerous to live. As you can already tell they are one of the squad leaders of the Silent Sisterhood.

Each Oblivion Knight-Centura is the unquestioned mistress of her own mission force through not only the strict customs of the Order but the trust placed in her abilities by those under her command, a respect earned over perhaps decades of active service, their mortal lifespans extended by the same alchemical treatments by which the nobility of Terra sees out centuries of life despite their mortal birth. While never a codified sanction, Sisters of Silence showing marks of age and long service, either psychologically or woven in with the subtle marks of their panoply, are often informally revered by their peers for their ability to survive and their knowledge, even if both were formally at the same rank within the command structure.

Knight-Centuras as mentioned, have an important role as field commanders or squad leaders for the Silent Sisterhood, although small squads of sisters can be commanded by a single Oblivion Knight, larger detachment of sisters find it much more efficient if led by a Knight-Centura. Because of their experience and age, Knight-Centuras are experts in rooting out psykers and other detestable mutants with psychic powers of various degree. Sometimes however, more then one Knight-Centura is needed to contain a particularly powerful psyker and when it comes to psychic titans in the form of Magnus the Red, multiple Knight-Centuras along with her fellow compatriots of the Silent Sisterhood is needed to weaken the psyhcic potential of one of the most powerful Primarchs to score even, via a mass concentrated null-field.

Knight-Centuras are in turn, led by the big cheese and alpha matriarch known as the Knight-Commander, in which Jenetia Krole AKA the Soulless Queen is the most famous example. The rank of Knight-Commander can be the equivalent of a Chapter Master or a Canoness in terms of military and political importance, ordering fellow sisters including the elite Oblivion Knights on where their next objective is. In the case of Jenetia Krole, she was the mistress of the Raptor Guard and one of the Emperor's personal battle confidantes (Although equating her as the Emprah's girlfriend is a tad bit heretical), as well as the highest-ranking Sister of Silence during the early days of the Horus Heresy.
