What is /tg/ White Dwarf?

"/tg/ White Dwarf" is a remake of GW's White Dwarf, representing all White Dwarfs should stand for - fun, diversity, community, that sort of things. It will focus mainly on Warhammer Fantasy Battles, including 9th Age, Specialist Games and WHRP, but will give attention to 40k, KoW and other related stuff, as well as bit of attention to unrelated stuff. It will be free monthly pdf issue.

Current Issue Work In Progress

General plan of the first issue.

First of all, it's gonna be dedicated to Bretonnia and Tomb Kings, as those got completely squatted by GW. Other discontinued models will get a spotlight too, though, as well as unrelated stuff (let's not get tunnel visioned).

The issue itself will look like that (with very approximate page count]:

1] My idea for cover should feature Bret knights and TK chariots charging. Cover title should say something like "Last Glorious Charge" or something.

2] Contents of the issue.

3-4] Welcoming speech for first issue. We'll describe what all the fuss is about, what we stand for, what TGWD will include, etc.

5-8] WHFB Section. Eulogy to discontinued models. Some pictures, obviously. Dates when those models were first released would be nice.

8a] Stillmania - half a page article about playing in the spirit of the game. Since Brets, TK, Free Company and Glade Riders (in 8th) were rather underpowered, they could be nice examples, but not necessary.

9-10] Tomb Kings retrospect. Olden models (those bone chariots, that ugly Arkhan, etc.). Cool stuff people remember - stories and the like.

11-12] Bretonnia retrospect.

13-14] 9th Age A bit about (upcoming) update (depends on when we release the issue). Either expectations or actual review.

14a] Mention their first model.

15-17] Something about Equitaine and Undying Dynasties armybooks, and especially that full-blown armybook for UD that they made some time ago - with pictures and "fluff" review.

18-20] Battle Reports Hope we can get some fresh interesting battle reports, hmm? Edition doesn't matter. Featuring discontinued models/factions is a plus, but not necessary.

21] WFRP An anon on /tg/ said he'd be willing to write something about WFRP, let's hope he'll deliver.

22-24] Miniature Overview Replacement minis for recently discontinued models. This subsection needs a title, I guess - sadly, it's gonna be recurring. Gotta be a comprehensible list. I don't care everyone knows about Perris, or that most of those are already in /whfbg/ header, we need a nice list, with pictures.

25] AoS minis overview (from discussion) for a change of pace and a touch (just a touch) of neutrality.

26] Homebrews & Supplements Goblin Lobber could go here, if it's worth it. Or something else. Would be nice to have this section in first issue.

27-28] Specialist Games Need Mordheim warbands converted from Men-at-Arms and Free Companies. Preferably not stuff from google. Not just images, bits of fluff that owners wrote for the too. Give them life.

29-31] Video Games Some short articles on Mordheim, Vermintide and Total War, I guess. Reviews from those who played, expectations, rumours.

32] Visions Entirely depends on how many images, if any, we'll scrounge up on /tg/. Let's not get our hopes up.

33-34] Mantic A comparison between 3 human armybooks (Basilea, Brotherhood and Human Kingdoms) and how well each one traslated into Brets would be nice. Also a word or two on Empire of Dust armybook.

35] Suggested Inspriations I was thinking about mentioning something like Le Morte d'Arthur or that Lovecraft's story about Houdini and Egyptian tomb, but wouldn't that be Bret/TK overdose?

Sections left out are those I have no idea what to plan for. Any content for them is most welcome.

Also, we need a NAME badly, and then a mascot that would fit that name. And drawfag to draw that mascot.
