To be fair, there is a lot of common in between Starcraft and 40k universe, but without fanboy pink glases it's obvious because both settings are conscienceless rip offs of entire sky-fy genre with less then 0.1% of original ideas. Deep inside your heart you know it.

Why it's a mark of fool to bich about Starcraft is 40K rip-off
Because it makes all 40K fans look retarded. Seriously, stop doing it. I'm 40K fan, and i feel myself bad each time some overzealous fag start to throw shit in the fan with entire Blizzerd vs GW bullshit.
You need more? OK, lets run through all common accusations:
*Terrans are Imperium rip-off! - Terran Cofederacy/Dominion are high-tech (and constantly developing new tech) bureaucratic police states, spread across small tightly packed star cluster, rather then Galaxy-wide technologically stagnating medieval Europe rip-off, who want to be police state, but fail to control even lower levels of Hive-cities. By modern standards life level of Terrans is low, but nowhere near as low as Imperium citizens one. Terrans even know the words "human rights". Not like Dominon government give a single shit about said rights.
*But they have space marines! - 40K space marines are badass superhuman warrior-monks, clad in near-impenetrable power armor, and they are as elite as it could be. Starcraft colonial marines are brainwashed criminals on drugs, clad in power-boosting exo-suits, which are as tough as toilet paper against any military-grade weapons (damn, even zergling can tear marine armor apart with ease), and they are main cannon-fodder of Terran military forces.
*Pauldrons! - Yeah, you got me, they do have absurdly massive pauldrons.
*Zerg are Tyranyd rip-off! - OK, insectoid-hivemind races are completely was not invented by Heinlein. Not even a little. On top of that, Zerg does not eat entire planets, like Tyranids do, and Nids does not colonize worlds like Zergs do. Zerg original command chain "Overmind-Cerebrates-Overlords-ordinary bugs" is nowhere near completelly disorganised (and though it much safer) Nid chain "Hive Mind - synapse creatures - other nids", not to mention Ovemind and Cerebrates was unique entities with their own bodies and even temperament features, while Hive Mind is, well, hivemind.
*Zerglings are Hormagaunts! - OK, hey both move in jumps and both tear things in close combat. That's all in common.
*Hydraliscs are Raveners! - Take that stick from your ass and look at the date of Ravener release.
*Protoss are Eldar! - Are you fucking kidding? If you really think Protos and Eldar have more in common then, say, Eldar and Vulcans, you need to replace your brain. Beside, there are idiots who also comparing Protoss with Tau, but guess what? They are not naive weeaboo who can't melee for shit, nor were they weeaboo pointed ear pansy. One thing for sure is that they have no mouth and they have brilliant escape mechanic, which allows them to instant teleport back to their home base during near death experience, instead of turning into marble and devoured by she-daemon.

This is a /v/ related article, which we tolerate because it's relevant and/or popular on /tg/... or we just can't be bothered to delete it.

Starcraft is real time strategy video game, made by Blizzard. Despite being THE most balanced RTS ever and South Korean national religion, Starcraft is most famous in neckbeard society for "It's all stolen from WH40K" holly war.

Long story short, there is rumors, denyed by both Blizzerd and GW, that Starcraft at first was developed as WH40K game, until GW for some retarded reasons deny their permission on using 40K universe (like they don't want a part of bazillion tons of money, Blizzard tend to earn for their games). /v/-fagg on their part tend to acuse GW for stealing Blizzard ideas, which sound silly at first, until... OMG RAVENERS!. /b/-tards tend to laugh on both /v/ and /tg/ and troll them to generate even more delicious copypaste.

To be fair, there is a lot of common in between Starcraft and 40k universe, but without fanboy pink glases it's obvious because both settings are conscienceless rip offs of entire sky-fy genre with less then 0.1% of original ideas. Deep inside your heart you know it.
