Swords & Wizardry is an OSR game by Frog God Games. It is a streamlining of the Dungeons & Dragons White Box. The PDF version can be downloaded for free.

There are in fact three distinct versions of Swords & Wizardry:

  • Swords & Wizardy WhiteBox Rules is based only on the three booklets from the eponymous White Box.
  • Swords & Wizardy Core Rules is based on the White Box and add some rules from the first supplement (notably the Thief class).
  • Swords & Wizardry Complete Rules is based on the White Box plus all of the supplements.

Swords & Wizardry WhiteBox Rules

The core of Swords & Wizardry, stay close to the original 1974 Dungeons & Dragons release with minor additions and clarifications (for example, ascending and descending Armor Class can be used depending on your preference).

Three classes: Fighter, Cleric, and Magic-User. Non-humans (Dwarves, Elves and Halflings) are restricted to specific classes.
