“I just had to find the right position and keep going until she passed out!”
Anon wanted to play a naive, neutral good, Yuan-ti bard, and posted the character concept in a thread. A few people had fun with the idea of a snakeman who was so genuine in his desire to help and entertain others that he could slither into a town and be confused when the people start running and shouting "Monster!". Solaron can also, through personal charisma and unbridled enthusiasm, seduce basically any female, though this is a talent he remains hilariously oblivious to. Anon asked if people would be interested in a story based on the character, received a positive response, and thus Solaron's saga began.

The Concept
I want to play a neutral good Yuan-Ti bard.
He was the proverbial runt of the litter and kicked out by his parents to go live with a family friend, a bandit leader in the woods. They work out of an abandoned library, the only building still standing in the town they live in. They make Solaron, the character, be their low level worker and manual laborer, and consider him useless.
Sol passes the time by reading in the library, and finds a massive brass bound book telling of great heroes and dashing adventure. One day the bandits never come back from their raid, so Sol grabs his gear and heads out TO ADVENTURE because being a worthless bandit is a bad life move.
He is totally naive and wants to be a scaly Errol Flynn, rescuing damsels and rappelling through skylights, despite everyone trying to run away screaming whenever he comes into town.
He will have a frighteningly high charisma score, and high seduction score, which represents his naive friendly charm and exotic handsomeness.
The people he 'seduces' usually end up being read to from his storybook before innocently cuddling.
Absolutely nothing can shake his belief that he WILL be a great adventurer, and save the damn princess.
A story? Ooh, please!
In Which A Naive Snakeman Is Called To Adventure
You no have story (for now). In the meantime, check the archive links at the bottom for Solaron's adventures in their native format.
The Party
Like moths to a plot-flame, Solaron has encountered like-minded individuals in his travels. These individuals have decided to travel with him for reasons of their own.
Solaron
The main serpent himself, Solaron lived a sheltered life in his home city before being thrust out into the world. He has since become fascinated by tales of adventure and heroism, and wishes to travel the land helping and entertaining those he meets. He remains undeterred in his quest despite the opposition and bigotry he faces by virtue of being utterly naive and oblivious. His personal charisma also gives him the ability to seduce almost any female he speaks to for any length of time, an ability he remains completely unaware of. No force in heaven, hell or the realms of man seems capable of shaking his determination to be a great hero.
Sloane
A paladin of Pelor, Sloane tried to kill Solaron on their first meeting, only failing because Smite doesn't work on Good-aligned creatures. Taking Solaron prisoner until he was convinced of his goodness, Sloane has since warmed up to his scaly friend and has decided to bring Solaron along on his quest to fight evil. Sloane is rather inexperienced in being a paladin and is fresh from the monastery. Nevertheless, the young paladin serves as unofficial party leader. Mostly because people don't feel like arguing with him once he sets his mind on something.
Galen
A cleric of Pelor. Galen was part of a group of prisoners that Sloane intended to rescue. Solaron helped in his own way and now the party has a healer. Experienced in healing but a novice adventurer, Galen travels with Solaron and Sloane to bring the holy light of Pelor to the dark corners of the world.
Buri
A dwarf warrior, Buri was the leader of a second group of adventurers whom Solaron and his fellows encountered deep in a forgotten tomb. Banding together to escape, Buri and his companions eventually joined with Solaron's party on a permanent basis. Buri is solid and dependable, but none of his friends know the story of his life before he took to adventuring, and he does not care to speak of it.
Sal'vir
An elven wizard, Sal'vir was one of Buri's companions before joining forces with Solaron and company. Sal'vir is a skilled wizard, but easily frightened or startled, and prone to bursts of panic. The elf also suffers from relationship problems, and has difficulty making or maintaining friendships. The elf often chooses to suffer in quiet brooding, rather than deal with problems directly.
Blake
The final member of Buri's old team, Blake is a halfbreed rogue. The offspring of a human mother and halfling father, Blake is a talented rogue, but difficult to deal with. The diminutive rogue often antagonizes his allies, playing continuous pranks and pulling jokes with little regard for how others may react, and can also be quite greedy. His impressive skills at his trade is likely the only reason Buri did not cast him out long ago.
