Transhuman Space is a science fiction roleplaying game based on the GURPS system by Steve Jackson. It differs from most sci-fi RPGs in being one of the few examples of so called hard science fiction. While other games use fantastical conceptions, alien races, impossible or almost magical science, space opera conventions and so on, Transhuman Space attempts to create a realistic and believable projection of the future of the human race. It discusses future developments of science, politics, economy, culture and ecology in great detail, often based in fact and actual speculations by scientists and philosophers.

Core Book

A hard science RPG set in the year 2100, Transhuman Space bills itself as 'a realistic speculation on the future'. There are no aliens or warp drives, and most of the action takes place within our solar system. It serves as a showcase for Transhumanist ideas, and covers a period when the human race is diverging into a clade, or cluster of related species through genetic engineering, AI, and nanotechnology.
