VASSAL is a computer program for playing boardgames over the 'net. It runs in Java, so it should work on Winblowz, Fischer-Price Macbooks and Linerds alike. People write a buttload of modules that include artwork for counters, boards and pieces for many games, including:
- 18xx rail games
- Acquire
- Advanced Civilization
- Advanced Squad Leader
- Amoeba Wars
- Axis & Allies (original or miniatures or a bunch of the other spin-offs)
- Borderlands
- Car Wars
- Carcassonne
- Diplomacy
- Dune, the manly game, the movie merchandise, or the express version
- HeroQuest
- Tigris & Euphrates
- Twilight Imperium 3rd edition, with expansions
- Warhammer 40k
- Warmachine
