This article serves as an alternative to random Maelstrom objectives and the secondary missions found in the core rulebook for WH40k.
Completing Objectives[edit | edit source]
All objectives are completed at the end of the battle round. You don't get to discard an objective when you complete an objective.
Discarding Objectives[edit | edit source]
At the start of your turn before generating objectives you can discard one objective you currently have in play.

Secondary Objectives[edit | edit source]
Adeptus Custodes[edit | edit source]
- At Spear's Length: Never have an enemy unit within your deployment zone during the entire game and never move a CUSTODES unit within 3" of a friendly unit that is not a CUSTODES unit.
- Eliminate Threats: Destroy the enemy unit with the highest PL cost with a CUSTODES unit.
- Warzone Secure: Control more objectives at the end of the game than your opponent.
Adeptus Mechanicus[edit | edit source]
- A Quest for Knowledge: Destroy a VEHICLE with an ADEPTUS MECHANICUS unit without the model exploding, crashing and burning, etc.
- The Machine Eternal: Have a friendly ADEPTUS MECHANICUS vehicle end the game with its full starting wounds after suffering a wound earlier in the game.
- Will of the Omnissiah: Randomly determine which Canticle of the Omnissiah is used on your first turn.
Astra Militarum[edit | edit source]
- Death from Afar: Destroy a unit in your opponent's deployment zone with an ASTRA MILITARUM unit in your deployment zone in the last turn.
- Hammer of the Emperor: Control every objective at the end of a battle round with an Astra Militarum unit at least once each.
- Troops on the Ground: Control the same objective with the same ASTRA MILITARUM INFANTRY unit three turns in a row.
Blood Angels[edit | edit source]
- Noble Self-Sacrifice: Lose a BLOOD ANGELS CHARACTER that destroyed a unit.
- Swift Advance: Advance with three BLOOD ANGELS units in the same turn.
- Valour of the Angels: Pass a Morale test with a BLOOD ANGELS unit with the And They Shall Know No Fear ability after initially failing the Morale test.

- Code of Combat: Destroy a CHARACTER with an HQ unit.
- Endless Legions: Bring a total of 20 models to the battlefield through Reanimation Protocols or the Eternity Gate and/or Invasion Beam abilities or the Enhanced Invasion Beams and Resurrection Protocols Stratagems.
