Zugzul is the Blackmoor god of fire, war, and conquest, and the patron god of the Afridhi people. He's the main evil god for the setting.

Back when Blackmoor was in its First-Edition Dungeons & Dragons "DA" phase, Zugzul aligned with the Sphere of Energy. Death was a different sphere so Zugzul didn't involve himself in that. This has been retconned in the final version.

Appearance

Zugzul appears as a tall man with flaming red hair, and deep, dark eyes that can supposedly burn souls away.

Worshippers

The worship of Zugzul is mandated and enforced in the lands held by the Afridhi, and the priesthood of Zugzul rules over the Afridhi. The Handmaidens of Zugzul, female warriors, sorcerers, and clerics work to assist the soldiers of the Afridhi armies with enchantments, perform human sacrifices before the sacred fires of their god, and making decisions based on the visions and dreams they gain from the sacrifices. The leader of the Handmaidens, Toska Rusa, claims to be the bride of the god, and the god has ordered the entire North to be made into a wedding gift for her.
