The GRAND DAD EMPIRE ARE a prolific VINESAUCE-centric MEME group based in BEDROCK CITY.  Their largest periods of activity seemed to be around the time SILVAGUNNER was terminated, when they were hosting several unofficial VINESAUCE gaming events (which they assure you repeatedly are not official Tournaments and are in no way affiliated with JOEL).
The Aventi are an obscure Dungeons & Dragons playable race race introduced in Stormwrack, the oceanic & underwater adventures splatbook for third edition.

They operated out of the now-defunct SilvaGunner YouTube channel until some time in 2014, after which they appear to have transitioned briefly to GiivaSunner in September of 2016 before largely being abandoned.
In a nutshell, aventi are essentially D&D Atlanteans: the descendants of an ancient and mighty human empire that, when sunk into the ocean, magically adapted and survived by turning into amphibious but otherwise near-perfectly human (pale-blue skin and tiny fins on the forearms and calves aside) creatures, essentially being more humanoid and amphibious merfolk. Season with elf-style arrogance and a conviction of their own superiority despite usually coming from a place nobody has heard about, and you have them in a nutshell.

The VINESAUCE gaming events that The GRAND DAD Fugitives held were known for being diverse and involved, due in large part to their incredibly strong homebrew scene. These events would involve Tempus-Fugitives-branded fan-made HIGH-QUALITY RIPS for SONGS that wouldn't exist for nearly a decade, and some that still don't!  They also hosted some of the first KING FOR ANOTHER DAY tournaments, with fan HIGH-QUALITY RIPS.

The Aventi are an obscure Dungeons & Dragons playable race race introduced in Stormwrack, the oceanic & underwater adventures splatbook for third edition.

If you want to play an aventi in 5th edition, it's really easier to just grab a triton: the triton's stats do pretty much everything you want out of the aventi, and they even match up in terms of fluff and, mostly, experience.

Gillmen

The basic idea of the aventi was, of course, re-used in Pathfinder with the oh-so-imaginatively named Gillmen. These guys are almost identical to Aventi in every way that matters, bar being somewhat more cosmopolitan, having more interaction with surfacers, and being unwitting sleeper agents for the aboleths.

...Actually, in many ways, the Gillmen are worse, because not only do they have this annoying railroading "plot hook" built into every single character, but they miss the point of Aventi by having the Water Dependent racial weakness, which is one of the reasons why merfolk and tritons have traditionally been ignored.

+2 Constitution, +2 Charisma, -2 Wisdom
Medium
Humanoid (Aquatic)
Base Land Speed: 30 feet
Swim Speed 30 feet
Can move in water without needing to attempt a Swim check, Swim is always a class skill.
Amphibious: Can breathe air and water equally well.
Enchantment Resistance: +2 racial bonus on saving throws vs. Enchantment spells and effects.
Servitor: All gillmen are unwitting slaves of the aboleths, and so even a gillman PC has some orders they are unconsciously compelled to follow. Additionally, their Enchantment Resistance is changed to a -2 penalty against Enchantment spells and effects used by aboleths.
Water Dependent: Must completely submerse in fresh or salt water once per day. If they fail to do so, they have 4d6 hours to to get submersed or they will die from dehydration.
