Baron Odo d'Outremer is one of the fairly large assortment of special characters for Bretonnia that appeared only in Warhammmer 5th edition and were subsequently removed when it received its more grimdark revamp in 6th edition.

The Baron d'Outremer is an in-universe historical special character who lived during the time of the great crusade into Araby to battle the evil sultan Jaffar. He was instrumental in breaking Jaffar's army in Estalia, and then pursued him back to Araby. During the crusade, he defeated an honorable Araby warrior named Suliman, but spared his life, and the two became lifelong friends and battle companions. It helped that Suliman despised Jaffar and was eager to remove him from the throne for the good of Araby.

Tabletop Game

Baron Odo d'Outremer and Suliman are a paired unit of special characters who must be taken simultaneously. The Baron wields the enchanted flail known as the Morningstar of Fracasse, an heirloom of a former Bretonnian crusader, which can disarm opponents wielding magical weapons. Suliman carries a great weapon (oversized scimitar), but his terrifying battle cry means he always strikes first.
