Dark Angels Grand Master
The Dark Angel's rough equivalent of a Chapter Master. A Dark Angels Grand Master is a rank used by Dark Angels and their Successor Chapters for certain senior officers.
Overview
Contrary to most Chapters which are led by Chapter Masters, the Dark Angels and their Successors maintain close ties, bound by an Inner Circle of Grand Masters sworn to hunt down the Fallen FOUL TRAITORS AND HERETICS FROM 9 TRAITOR LEGIONS THAT HAVE NO CONNECTIONS TO THE FIRST LEGION WHATSOEVER! Dark Angels Grand Masters are often given leadership over specific duties and organizations, such as the Chapter Fleet, Deathwing, Ravenwing, and Librarium. The Dark Angels maintain 13 Grand Masters (the 10 Company Masters and the Masters of the Chaplains, Librarians, and the Armory). Overall command of the Dark Angels and the Unforgiven is given to the Supreme Grand Master, always a member of the Dark Angels Inner Circle who is selected by his predecessor.
Their most famous Grandmaster is Azrael who is so accomplished he has risen to the title of SUPREME! The Supreme Grand Master is basically the leader of the Dark Angels and covertly the symbolic head of the Dark Angel's successor chapters who are actually a Legion in all but name A COMPLETELY LOYAL AND TRUSTWORTHY CHAPTER WITH A PROUD HISTORY AND RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR SUCCESSOR CHAPTERS! Anyways, Commander Azrael is the present Supreme Grand Master of the Dark Angels Chapter and he carries the honorific title of Keeper of the Truth as he is that trusted with the Chapter's most closely guarded secrets.
Their Space Furries counterpart are the Wolf Lords.
They should also not be confused with the similarly named Grey Knights counterpart called simply as the Grand Master.
