Degenesis is an RPG set on earth around the Mediterranean roughly 500 years after an apocalyptic event called the "Eshaton" occurred wherein a few dozen meteors ruined humanity's day, bringing along with them some horrific shit called the primer, an actively expansionist alien infection that comes in several flavors, most notably Sepsis which is the variety found in Europe, a fungal hivemind that mutates whatever it get's it's mycelium on into beings that are connected to the hivemind and serve it's expansionist goal. The mainstay of Sepsis, and titular antagonist of the RPG are Homo Degenesis, a bunch of nasty motherfuckers who generally aren't too keen on humans. They themselves come in several varieties of murderous cunt, but are all a serious threat to the remnants of the human race. The other bit of primer that comes in direct contact with the Mediterranean survivors are the psychovores, essentially an entire jungle of exceptionally disagreeable flora that has consumed the majority of Sub-Saharan Africa, and is on it's way north. There is also a third variety but all that is known about it is that it is "nasty shit that lives in the Atlantic". The dickish space plants are not the only threat to mankind however, less than amicable human tribes, insane pre-Eshaton robots, pre-Eshaton humans with a nanite addiction, cryogenically frozen humans waking up with a murderous hangover and highly advanced weaponry, it's not a terribly hospitable environment.
The player characters are all humans belonging to one of 12 organizations, or to a clan of survivors. These organizations include a militarized red cross who war against the sepsis, religious types who set the sepsis on fire, other religious types who aren't keen on the former religious types, easily sunburnt incestuous people who survive in underground bunkers, hedonistic gypsies who are so hardcore they smoke sepsis, autistic engineers who's goal is to reboot the internet, some folks who dig through the ruins of old humanity for ancient vibrators and smartphones, angry black men, Egypt loving shaman types, an entire faction of what Nigerian prince scammers would be if they were genuine, the Swiss military turned gun fetishists, and judge dread types with the fashion sense of Solomon Kane.
The game runs on a system called the "katharSys".It's based on savage worlds, and is generally quite serviceable.
