Overview

Homeworld

The world of Sver is a temperate world, covered by three continents, of which only the western one of Gjnion, which was once fought over constantly by feudal human kingdoms, until they were enlightened, ironically, by the Sons of Fire during the great crusade long years ago. The rest of Sver is unmapped wilderness, and has not been colonized mainly due to infighting between the kingdoms already existent.

History

Taught war briefly by the Sons and later raised by imperial advisors, the old Kingdoms still remained old territories and ruling bodies, albeit all protectorates of the Empire. For a brief time, the wars stopped, until the lords realized their new overlords only cared for their tithes of men and material. With only few imperial advisors, the old wars came again, ceasing only to send regular tributes as power hungry nobles spilled blood countless times over Sver.

When the Heresy first started, strange changes started to appear on Sver. Age old warrior cults started coming into fashion again, and whispers of legends, Gods of Old started spreading around the planet. While the imperials forced the nobility into quelling these worrying events it started creating a dichotomy between leaders and their people. For years this continued, stopping all wars as armies deserted or mutineed against their superiors, causing the last imperials and their local PDF to retreat to their last basin of power, Hive Prima. For years the Hive held out against the combined brunt of their roiling planet, until one day the heavens opened, and Ivory stars rained down from the sky. Called for by the people they once enlightened, Heavily armoured supersoldiers smashed into stamped into previously undisturbed cityscape as rebel warriors clambered to their aid. The Mastidonii, corrupted themselves, tore through the frightened Imperials, reveling in the Chaos.

When the planet fell, all the drafted warriors, whether once royal, or PDF, were given one option, join or die, of which many chose the latter option. The Mastadonii needed warriors, and used their planetfall as leverage to call this favour. Of the warriors that joined, the warrior cults became their leaders, reforging them over a hundred campaigns as the Ravagers. Constant combat changed them into beasts, becoming masters of the swirling melee, of which they were accustomed to since before them emperor. Over the years and into the centuries this love for battle turned to devotion eventually causing the Ravagers fall to Khorne.

Tactics

Tactics of the Ravagers generally model those who accompany them in combined arms operations, however they have a penchant for close quarters combat, something refined on the blood soaked battlefields of Sver millennia ago. Note that Ravagers still listen to orders, and arent prone to breaking down into fits of madness like other Khornate warbands.
