Benekander
Rheddrian Benekander is an Immortal of the Sphere of Energy in the D&D setting of Mystara.
History
He was an engineer on a spaceship that was forced to make an emergency landing on Mystara in the ancient past. The crew all went into cryosleep to wait for help to arrive (it never did). An indeterminate amount of years later, Benekander awoke from his cryo capsule to find a bunch of native Mystaran humans ransacking the ship and stealing all the shiny future-tech. The ship exploded as a result of their meddling. In the resulting energy surge, Benekander's body totally disintegrated, but his consciousness survived by fusing with a mirror-like techno-gizmo. The ships engines, which survived the disaster, started up and buried themselves deep down into the earth, becoming the artifact known as the Nucleus of the Spheres.
