Braxats are a monstrous race of cruel beastfolk whose hulking forms combine elements of lizard, rhinoceros and beetle and whose personalities are as unpleasant as their looks. Native to the setting of Dark Sun, they have had a long history, appearing in every edition from 2nd to 5th. In 3rd edition, they were assimilated into the Forgotten Realms, where it was stated that they are a creation of the Sarrukh. In 5th edition, they returned in the Spelljammer setting, alongside several other notable Dark Sun monsters.
